Love Lula Beauty Box April 2019 & A (mini) Giveaway! [AD]

Hi Lovelies,

Welcome back! And welcome if you are new here xoxo

Love Lula Beauty Box April 2019

Firstly, let me just say that Love Lula is the only subscription box I am getting, and I am really happy with it! I’ve been getting it for around a year and a half maybe, and I have to say they do a very good job at including a good variety of products, apart of a few tiny missteps of too many scrubs or face oils in a row, other products were a delight to discover, and I have to say I am looking forward to each new month in anticipation to what’s to come – Christmas or Birthday present for yourself each month, anyone? They ship worldwide, and the price is 14.95£ monthly recurring for UK customers, and for us international gals there are two options of three months (52.50£) or a year (210£) including post and packaging. Green beauty boxes are a great way to discover new items you might have missed otherwise, and I love that anything coming from LoveLula is cruelty free and guaranteed not to have any toxic ingredients – they have very strict criteria for any product they accept, and that is taking the guesswork off your shoulders. International boxes sometimes differ from the UK ones due to Love Lula not being able to ship nail polishes or perfumes.

*sadly Love Lula is no more.. Sob!

So, let’s see what’s in this month’s beauty box?

ALTEYA ORGANICS CERTIFIED ORGANIC CAMOMILE WATER IN A GLASS BOTTLE (£7.95 FOR 120ML)

Love Lula, how did you know I wanted slash needed this? I love love love this and Alteya Organics Rose water, and despite not being short on toners or mists, I bookmarked both of them as soon as the glass bottle versions came out. I already reviewed it here, so I won’t be going into too much detail here, but if you want my review in short, here it is – LOVE. Also – THANKS LOVE LULA! 🙂 Oh, I should mention this smells a bit more pungent than the one I had previously (in a plastic packaging) and I am not sure if it’s due to the different batch or glass packaging, but I don’t mind, because it is amazing at calming my often irritated skin. Definitely recommend. Full sized product.

INGREDIENTS: 100% Pure USDA Certified Organic Chamomile (Anthemis Nobilis) flower distillate

GALINEE PROBIOTIC BODY MILK (28£ FOR 200ML)

As you can see, this product alone exceeds the value of this box! Having said that, I must come clean and tell you I won’t be using this product on myself – the fragrance is too strong for me to handle, plus it has some of the ingredients I don’t want to use. My stash is currently too big to add this in the hopes I will use it some day, so I have decided to make some co- worker very happy and give it away. We are all on the different levels of green beauty and that’s ok – what does not work for me might be someone else’s perfect product. You do you, boo. I love the idea of using skin friendly bacteria though. And it has good ratings on Love Lula website. The texture is silky smooth and it sinks in fast – adding this just in case someone wants to know 🙂 Second full sized product in the box.

INGREDIENTS: WATER PROPANEDIOL ISOPROPYL PALMITATE ALPHA-GLUCAN OLIGOSACCHARIDE C14-22 ALCOHOLS LACTIC ACID GLYCERIN AMMONIUM ACRYLOYLDIMETHYLTAURATE/VP COPOLYMER PRUNUS AMYGDALUS DULCIS (SWEET ALMOND) OIL CETYL ALCOHOL NYLON-12 PENTYLENE GLYCOL INULIN POLYMNIA SONCHIFOLIA ROOT JUICE TOCOPHERYL ACETATE MALTODEXTRIN ARGININE ALOE BARBADENSIS LEAF JUICE LACTOBACILLUS MENYANTHES TRIFOLIATA LEAF EXTRACT AESCULUS HIPPOCASTANUM (HORSE CHESTNUT) SEED EXTRACT PALMARIA PALMATA EXTRACT SODIUM ACRYLATE/SODIUM ACRYLOYLDIMETHYL TAURATE COPOLYMER C12-20 ALKYL GLUCOSIDE ISOHEXADECANE PERFUME (FRAGRANCE) POLYSORBATE 80 SORBITAN OLEATE ALCOHOL ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN TETRASODIUM GLUTAMATE DIACETATE SODIUM HYDROXIDE LIMONENE

DR.BOTANICALS LEMON SUPERFOOD ALL-IN-ONE RESCUE BUTTER (£19 FOR 50ML)

Another full size product in the box & worth more than what you pay for the box – yay or what? The description says it is “packed full of minerals, antioxidants and vitamins from Lemongrass oil, Coconut oil, Almond oil, Grape seed oil and seabuckthorn fruit oil, they all working together to rejuvenate, renew and invigorate dull and dry skin. With a 96% natural formula, the Superfood power of lemongrass and its high content of Vitamin C helps with skin blemishes and rough skin. The result is a brighter and smoother complexion and a dewy, healthy glow.” Well, I had to check it out so, hadn’t I? I am not short on balms either, so at first I thought to put it away for sun holidays we have booked at the end of summer, but anything with sea buckthorn in it gets my immediate attention 🙂 At first I used it as a hands cream and I really liked the way it seemed to soothe the forever chapped areas. Then my hubby asked for a good soothing product he could take and keep in the car (he just ran out) so with a sigh I gave this to him. He tried it immediately, mainly on the hands and a rash he has on the face in the beard area, and he commented that he liked it too. But as soon as he put it next to his computer, our kids were like “oooh, what’s that in the pretty yellow tube? A cream? May I try it?” and pretty soon it was a mayhem over this product. Needless to say neither me or my hubby got it back, but all of us have decided to keep it in the hallway next to the sunscreens, so all of us have access to it at any time we want. A sure hit in Casa Green Life In Dublin 🙂

INGREDIENTS: Aqua (Water), Cetearyl Alcohol, Stearic Acid, Glycerin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Benzyl Alcohol, Sodium Hydroxide, Hippophae Rhamnoides (Seabuckthorn) Fruit Oil, Xanthan Gum, Allantoin, Disodium EDTA, Citral, Dehydroacetic Acid, Cymbopogon Flexuosus Oil, Geraniol, Linalool, Citronellol, Eugenol, Isoeugenol, Limonene.

Now, I have to tell you that my box was a bit different to the UK this month, UK people got (gorgeous) Glossworks Nail Polish in Raspberry Parade, but since it can’t be shipped to outside UK, we got

MOSSA RESTORING EYE CREAM (13£ FOR 15ML)

Another – fourth – full size in the box! I am constantly amazed at how Love Lula keeps pulling this off – you are guaranteed to have 2-3 full sizes in every box, but they often go far and beyond that, like this month. If I remember correctly this month’s value was 65£ – and I am yet to see value less than 49.95£. Well done Love Lula team – I don’t know how you do that, but I am so thankful for it xo

Coming back to this cream – I’ll sound like a broken record at this point, but due to the size of my stash and already having my perfect eye product in the form of Bella Aura Eye Contour (review), I would like to do a little giveaway for you guys! I will send this anywhere in EU, and I will keep the rules short and sweet – all you have to do it follow me on any of the social media (all will be linked below) and let me know about it in the comments. Just let me know your Instagram handle if you will follow me on IG or your Twitter name – so I would know how to contact you.

*KIMBERLY SAYER SAMPLES

See these tiny sachet samples? Despite Love Lula having them in this and the last month boxes, they are very rarely seen here, you are far more likely to get deluxe size or travel sized bottles, if not full size. I am yet to try both samples, because I have too many of them, and having taken stock of my stash (see my shelfie on IG) I am very keen to reduce, not to add to it. Kimberly Sayer’s Ultra Light Moisturizer SPF30  holds a Holy Grail status for the last few years (see here and me talking in greater detail about it here) though, so I am likely to try them soon.

Love Lula Beauty Box March 2019

Now, let’s see my thoughts on last month’s products, shall we?

HURRAW MOON BALM (4.99£ FOR 4.3GR)

Many people who love Hurraw tell me they have never tried Moon Balm, and I really recommend that you do – not only it has a different texture than other lip balms, but it works so well overnight at soothing and repairing my dry lips – I can’t and never want to be without it. Holy Grail product right here. Raw and organic ingredients, check. Fantastic formula, check. Dreamy vanilla scent, check. A Holy Grail Status for the last five years or so (see here) Meaning a forever repurchase 🙂

INIKA CERTIFIED ORGANIC LIQUID EYE LINER (19£ FOR 3.5ML)

Despite never properly reviewing their make up, I use Inika for many years now, and I have to say I am really impressed with almost all the products I have tried from them. Inika blush Peachy Keen is my Absolute Favourite Green Beauty Product Ever – want more beautiful and all natural Nars Orgasm dupe? This is it! (Check this post for more than 20 more natural dupes for it and don’t forget to see my Green Beauty Swatch Gallery post too). Needless to say I was overjoyed to see this eye liner in the box, but I have to say it didn’t live up to my expectations sadly – it is not pitch black as I expected it to be and it crumbles at the end of the winged liner as the day goes on, so I don’t see myself repurchasing it. But huge thanks to Love Lula for a chance to try it, I really appreciate it. It also goes to show that it is impossible to have all the Holy Grail products in one line – from my experience all the brands have strong and not so strong points, aka products. I am yet to find a make up brand where all of the products work for me.

INGREDIENTS: Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice*, Hydrolyzed Corn Starch, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Glycerin*, Camellia Sinensis (Black Tea) Leaf Extract*, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Extract, Aqua (Water), Lactobacillus Ferment, May Contain (+/-) Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Ultramarines (CI 77007). *Certified Organic

SARYA COUTURE MAKEUP ORGANIC EYESHADOW – MOCHA (17.80£ FOR 3.5G)

Another item I was really happy to see in the box and am happily using almost ever single day! I just reviewed Sarya Couture Make Up (see here) and I am really impressed with the line. The shadows are pigmented, so are the lipsticks, and I am really happy with everything I’ve got. Let me tell you, this is one company I am keeping my eye on, when they will release new products, I want to know! Sorry my vegan friends, this isn’t for you – let’s just hope the company will soon release a vegan line too. Everyone else, be my guest.

Contains luxurious, organic ingredients such as: Bio Shea Butter : rich of natural Vitamins A, E and F, Karanja oil: bactericide properties, Avocado oil: moisturizer action MICA, ZEA MAYS STARCH (ZEA MAYS (CORN) STARCH)*, SQUALANE, ZINC STEARATE, GLYCERYL CAPRYLATE, TOCOPHEROL, SILICA, BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII BUTTER (BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII (SHEA) BUTTER)*, PRUNUS ARMENIACA KERNEL OIL (PRUNUS ARMENIACA (APRICOT) KERNEL OIL)*, PERSEA GRATISSIMA OIL (PERSEA GRATISSIMA (AVOCADO) OIL)*, PONGAMIA GLABRA SEED OIL, MACADAMIA TERNIFOLIA SEED OIL*, MAY CONTAIN +/-: CI 77891 (TITANIUM DIOXIDE), CI 77491 (IRON OXIDES), CI 77492 (IRON OXIDES), CI 77499 (IRON OXIDES), CI 77510 (FERRIC FERROCYANIDE), CI 77007 (ULTRAMARINES), CI 77742 (MANGANESE VIOLET), CI 75470 (CARMINE) *From organic source

MADARA DEEP MOISTURE GEL FOR OILY SKIN (28£ FOR 50ML)

The texture is smooth and velvety, but knowing for the fact my skin does not do well with witch hazel anything at all, I haven’t tested this product further than that. You see, as well as being a blogger I am also a regular person with a really sensitive and dermatitis prone skin, so having tested everything that came my way for the first five years of blogging, I had to release myself from the pressure to know everything about every single product – seeing how the market is sort of exploding, I would never be able to catch up anyway & besides, my skin is really rebelling every single time I try something new. So I will be honest and say I haven’t put my skin through weeks of testing/using this product. At first I thought of either using it on my hair or scalp, but then both my daughter (combo skin) and my bestie (oily skin) both expressed interest in thus product, so I can rest assured it will be put to good use after all.

INGREDIENTS: Aqua Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch-hazel) Leaf Water* Alcohol Glycerin Urtica Dioica (Nettle) Leaf Extract* Sodium Magnesium Silicate Plantago Major (Plantain) Leaf Extract* Quercus Robur (Oak) Bark Extract* Salvia Officinalis (Salvia) Leaf Extract* Sodium Levulinate Sodium Hyaluronate Sodium Anisate Lactic Acid Sodium Phytate Aroma**

+ ZUII SELF TANNING SAMPLES (SACHETS)

I am yet to use them – the weather hasn’t been kind to us here in Ireland, we barely have had a few sunny hours in between of rains/ winds/ storms – so I am not yet in a glowing goddess mood to try any self tanning products. I guess I will update you once I will pull them out – either as a mention on my blog somewhere or in my IG stories.

  1. Love this! The chamomile water is my favourite too, and it’s been on my wish list but not bought because I have so many floral waters to use up. I’m misting it every day now 🙂 xx
