Welcome back! And welcome if you are new here 💕💕💕
Thinking about dark and long evenings and upcoming Christmas, I chose two scented candles from Love Lula. One of them, Laouta, had my eyes on it since it’s launch last month or so – originally I wanted Dark resin, but I changed my mind since by blogger friend Sandra from Beauty Balm said it smells fruity, not dark and/or resinous as you would expect. I didn’t know what to choose for my second pick, so I went for Raspberry & Pomegranate one – you can’t go wrong with sweet & fruity kind of scents, can you?
Laouta is a small family business which unite the expertise and long standing experience in cosmetics & horticulturalism.. Using 100% natural, locally sourced, vegetarian ingredients, Laouta offer a selection moisturising oils, balms, candles and sun skincare products, inspired by traditional Mediterranean recipes. Scented candles are the latest addition to Love Lula selection. Housed in hand made clay pots and made with soy wax, these sound awesome on paper, but there are two things that I ought to tell you about – firstly, they do contain fragrance – no ingredients other as soy wax are listed on Love Lula or brand’s website, so I emailed a company to ask if the fragrance is of natural origin and they came back to me with an answer that they scent their candles with essential oils and also synthetics. The clay packaging, although gorgeous, does have oil stains all over it, so I second Sandra that this makes the candles not really gift worthy, especially knowing it does not burn down evenly.
Ingredients: 100% pure soy wax. (?!)
This is much more presentable and gift-able! Everything from the cardboard box to the luxe looking candle is aesthetically pleasing. The candle burns down evenly, there’s no problems with the wick or soot. I would almost recommend it, except one problem – the smell is barely there, unless you stick your nose into it.
INGREDIENTS: Soy Wax+, Parfum (Fragrance). =+ from plants & vegetables ^ from nuts or seeds ± from coconut *
So, as you can see, my search for natural candles continues! Please let me know your favourites, I would really appreciate that. As you might know, I give feedback/ mini reviews on my last month’s Love Lula Picks, so let’s see what I think of the products I picked last month?
ENER C VITAMIN C X 2 BOXES
A true must have in Sickness Season, also known as Autumn & Winter! I included this in my Natural & Organic Medicine Cabinet post, so check it out if You want to see what else I use to keep sickness at bay and/or treat colds & flu’s if one of my soldiers (or I) falls down.
YIN YANG SKINCARE MSM CREAM FOR JOINTS & MUSCLES
I don’t feel this worked for me, so I gave it to try to Ms Green Life In Dublin Senior to test/ use up. This didn’t take my joint pain at all, they were still throbbing with pain after application and the next morning too. I will see what my daughter will say.
AYUMI TURMERIC & HIBISCUS SHAMPOO X2
AYUMI SANDALWOOD & JOJOBA SOAPS X2
Ayumi was the brand I was really pleased to discover this year, mark my word to see it in my Yearly Favourites down the line. Budget friendly, work great and smell amazing, what’s not to like? I have got loads of products to test back in May (post) and was really impressed with everything I’ve got. Since then, I have been mentioning the brand to everyone who listens (see it included into the Affordable Clean Beauty at Love Lula post for example) and we have worked through countless bottles ever since. The Turmeric range is my elder daughter’s favourite and these two shampoos were purchases at her request. She said she likes the line so much she wants to have every product for ever and ever and even wants to find perfume that smells exactly like it! Stay tuned for the brand reviews soon.
That’s all for now. Please like and share this or any of my other posts on social media, it really helps to get the green beauty word out – and you will forever have my gratitude!
