Reacting to my old Instagram posts – Green Life In Dublin

Green Life In Dublin Instagram page

Hi Lovelies,

Welcome back! And welcome if you are new here ? ? ?

How are all of You, I hope You are well? Today I will be coming with a bit of a different post – a trip down memory lane.  Recently I had a thought of checking out my very first IG photo, and of course I had to scroll miles to get to it – I think I have started my page in 2015. When I finally did, I cringed at my first photos and thought to myself what a long way I have come since. Not deleting any of them, it is a part of my story 🙂 While perusing my own posts, I had so many thoughts like “Oh, this was a really nice product and yet I never repurchased”, “well, that didn’t work out so well” and so on. After a little while I thought it would make a good post, a bit like Youtubers reacting to their old videos type of one. Let’s see?

I think I will limit myself to 10 photos, as not to take too much of your time – I appreciate You, my reader, so much! It might not be all products photo, it will be a mix of everything.

Ready for Christmas 🙂

My very first photo. I didn’t start out as Green Life In Dublin blog page as we know it now, I started without any idea of what I was doing 🙂 and it clearly shows in the first photos. What’s a bit odd to me, it shows I have zero likes on the photo – I swear that’s not how I remember it.

www.greenlifeindublin.blogspot.ie/2015/08/diy-whipped-nourishing-body-butter.html And a DIY 🙂 one of my fave topics & things to do! As a new anti-dermatitis regime, l have to moisturise my skin twice everyday, something l haven't done in years. Since going natural l haven't found a body lotion or butter that l like, so most of the time l went without. Sure l used coconut oil but mostly in winters, and def not twice a day. Unfortunately that's why my skin was affected by allergy so much, because it didn't had any protective layer on top of it. So now l have to moisturise twice a day "for a really really long time". The shop bought special egzema moisturisers cost a fortune and l was going through them like there's no tomorrow, and l noticed that the active ingredients in them are shea butter, macademia oil and such, l once again decided to DIY it 🙂 Recipe in the comments because l am running out of space.

This post if for you ladies out there who struggle to find clean alternative to Nars Orgasm – this was my Fave.Blush.Ever and l was killing myself finding a dupe for it! I was recommended @Inikacosmetics Peachy Keen and although l like it, it's not exact dupe as it's way more orange than coral and the gold particles are a bit much for me (l tend to "dilute' it with another blush to get it just right). The exact dupe is @PurMinerals Polynesian Pink, and l am soooooooooooo happy l found it 🙂 l came across it in TKMaxx a while ago and l can't find it there ever since, so l will have to order it online. (Believe me, l was running around like a headless chicken visiting at least six branches hoping to find more of it. Marks & Spencer have PurMinerals range but sadly not this blush) Unfortunatelly it has phenoxyethanol and carmine in it 🙁 So you can choose a dupe depending on your own standarts. No filters here btw. #NarsOrgasmdupe #NarsOrgasmnsturaldupe #cleancosmetics #NarsOrgasm #Inika #InikaPeachyKeen #PurMinerals #PurMineralsPolynesianPink

One of my earliest posts turned out to be one of my best read posts to this day! Natural Nars Orgasm dupes, updated over time – with more than 20 dupes now 🙂 See it here.

The time I met lovely Youtuber Vegan Michele and her husband – and I ended up on the spot for their YouTube video 🙂 I was shaking like a leaf there, but had a great time with both of them. They advised me to create my YouTube channel then, because people tend to choose videos over reading blog posts. Who knew it would take me only three years to get over myself? 🙂

It is December already, and soon we will all be sharing all these 9best or 16best aka our most popular photos of the year. I am taking a bit of a different route and a leaf of @karin_greenconscience book – last year she shared her own favourite photos instead of the most popular, and I really like that idea. So please feel free to peruse my own favourites collage. . This is a result of me thinking of Yearly Favourites and 2017 Overview, both of these blog posts are almost finished, and all I can say, GRATITUDE MODE is well and truly on!! Despite it being one of my hardest years, if not the worst, I also had many great things happening too, and I will touch on them in the posts soon. Last year I totally unplugged on 4th of December, this year I still have much work to do, but I will be unplugging from 17th, the date my mom will be over for Christmas ?

Sharing #greenbeautylove ? love and admire these ladies so much that I went on to #interview them on my #blog! All of them are fabulous and inspiring on so many levels, and I think you will love reading more about them. I featured Julie from @completenaturalclarity not too long ago, and you will find links to all the other #interviews at the end of that post. Link to my blog in my bio ? P.s. Does anyone know what happened to Linda, aka Lindalu1919? She stopped making YouTube videos last year, and not her IG account seems to be deleted as well? . @organicbeautylover @andthecolorgreen @janeyleegrace @grozio_gurmane @lindalu1919 @balancedbeautybristol @bvgan @andiethegreenqueen @completenaturalclarity @soniawhite of @lovelulabeauty @smallbitsofloveliness @vitalivesfree . . #sharethelove #sharingthelove #greenbeautylove #sharinggreenbeautylove

Ladies and gentlemen, I am very happy to announce I have been selected as a judge for the second year running for #cleanbeautyawards run by @certclean and @purpicks ? They are working hard at presenting you with the best of the best of #naturalandorganicproducts and that is the mission that resonates deeply with me too. I started my blog a decade ago when I was making my own switch and could not find anything clean and natural locally to me. Online stores didn't exist back then (hard to believe, I know) and natural mineral make up could be described as fifty shades of beige, without any exciting shades or decent product selection. Thankfully #greenbeauty scene has exploded since, something I am very happy about! As it gathered pace, it also sparked lots and lots of green washing (please don't get me started on that!) and this is why we need Clean Beauty Awards like this – to help you guys sift the best products! I can't wait to get started and I will keep you posted on my judging journey. Pen, notebook and spreadsheet at the ready ? ?️???️? . . . . . . . #cleanbeautyawardsjudge #cleanbeautyawards2019 #cleanbeautyawardsjudge2019 #certclean #purpicks #letsgetthisstarted

Had the time of my life judging for various green beauty awards from 2018 to this date – hope that is not the end of it.

My usual type of reading list. I am known for reading multiple book at any given time – anyone the same? By the way, recommendations for good books in the health/ wellness/ self care/ self improvement realms always welcome!

Happy October and new week Lovelies ? The reason I've been quiet for a few days is I've I've launched www.greenlifeindublin.com ?? After blogging on a free blogger platform since 2009 it is now time to grow up and have my own self hosted website. Tomorrow is the day I'll post my first (first?!) blog post over there and I am currently debating with myself whether to transfer all the 400+ posts content or leave things the way they are. I am talking about 2 months legwork over here. What so you guys think??? To transfer or not to transfer, that is the question ??? . . . #Ilovemyfollowers #newwebsite #greenlifeindublin #greenlifeindublindotcom #greenbeautyblogger #thanksforreading

I didn’t even know my blog is nearing two years Birthday this October. That’s why it is good to have platforms like this – so You can go back in time to check things, huh? I guess I should say my new blog or my current blog – as I also have this blog where I used free Google Blogger platform for years before transitioning to my own website. I have 400+ posts there, many of them being reviews, in the case any of You want to check it out?

Just like the note says, God, thank You for everything! Even the hardships, because without them I wouldn’t be the woman I am today.

Huge Thank You for all of my followers, old and new! You guys freaking rock and I love You ?

Love and Gratitude!

Renata.
