I will admit I wasn’t specifically seeking this mascara to try, but it came just in time in “New Products” section in Love Lula (sadly no more)  when I needed to replace my mascara, so I quickly decided to give it a go.

Description says: “Intensify every look with this jet black, buildable mascara for a disarming gaze, almost too deep to bear.

Infused with organic castor oil, the natural certified formula nurtures and reinforces your lashes, whilst giving a fascinating volume, definition and length.

Natural vegan waxes and plant-derived peptides ensure easy application and incredible lasting power. The high-definition wand reaches even the tiniest hair for a full bloom effect that is truly eye-opening.

Formulated with all-natural pigments without synthetic colourants.”

Let’s have a quick look at the ingredients?

Madara & sustainability

This product is made in MÁDARA factory (Riga, Latvia), using 100% green electricity, coming from renewable sources. All formulas are responsibly developed in our labs, skin-friendly and biodegradable, free from harsh chemicals and potential environmental pollutants.

Madara uses Earth-conscious packaging solutions, including post-consumer recycled plastics, recycled ocean waste and leftover materials from sugarcane and wood production. Their primary packaging — tubes, bottles, flacons — are 100% recyclable since 2006.

My thoughts on the mascara:

I have to say I am impressed! I haven’t read the description prior to purchasing it, because I wanted to form my own opinion and not be swayed by the marketing. The plasticky bristles did not give me much confidence to begin with, but boy did I was surprised upon first application. It gave my short and straight lashes that length and volume I am looking for. The second layer built it up to false lashes looking look, but all natural. I am so happy with it so far. Reviews say it may leave some smudges throughout the rainy or snowy day, but it hadn’t happened to me so far. I will keep You posted.

I guess You would like to see the photo of how it looks like. I am rubbish at photographing my own lashes and so is my assistant photographer, aka husband, so I will borrow the photo from Madara themselves. In my own good time I will keep trying to take a good photo to showcase it, or will film it perhaps. I usually stop at two layers, but as You can see, You can go crazy.
