Hibernating till spring
New Year New Me? Nah, it is time for the years to get better, not me!
January arrives with an almost universal pressure to add: new goals, new habits, new supplements, new routines, new versions of ourselves.
But Nature doesn’t work that way.
In the natural world, nothing new emerges in the dead of Winter. Trees will be bare for months before new growth appears. Animals rest and simplify through winter before the spring expansion. So the only detox I will be doing in January/ February is digital. Deep cleaning the house. Refreshing wardrobe and pantry. Soaking in the bath as much as possible. Hibernating with my fireplace, natural candles, turmeric latte or medicinal mushrooms hot chocolate, thank You very much. We are in the dead of the winter.

Keeping the rituals that bring joy. Moving in ways that feel sustainable. Setting intentions instead of deadlines. Yes please!
Project Pan Everything I own
In a midst of declutter I decided to project pan every single product I own. At some stage we do get bored with what we own, especially if the products are “blah” and not exciting to use. At this stage I do own quite a bit of those, they are just sitting in the bathroom, on the shelves upstairs and downstairs and slowly becoming clutter. So Project Pan it is. Expect a lot of “Shopping My Stash” posts in this year.
Slow Beauty Year (again)
I did a Slow Beauty Year project last year, together with Sandra from Sandra_lovesandlifestyle on IG (formerly known as Beauty Balm) and we have decided to do it again this year, only slower and cheaper. Looking at my notes from last year I noticed patterns and triggers and I will try to work on those to the best of my ability.

My thoughts on it – I say this with all the love and respect, but I wish this product was stronger. You see, I had a pulled back muscle at the time I received this, so it obviously seemed like an answer to my prayers. In reality, applying only this didn’t help me with pain, but then again, maybe I was expecting too much of this product? Maybe it wasn’t product’s fault, maybe I was looking for too much from it? Don’t get me wrong, I love Evolve Organic Beauty to bits, anyone who knows me I am a superfan of this brand forever. Sooo many of the products are in my Holy Grails for years and years. I will continue to use this product and will report back, just maybe I have to tone down my expectations a little.
Vita Coco Nourishing Coconut Shampoo for Dry Hair
I have a little confession to make. After successfully boycotting Amazon (Amazon does not pay any taxes, postage costs are funded by tax payers, the company is at war with everyone from delivery companies to their own employees, do I need to go on?) for the last 15 years, I broke the spell. My daughter had braces fitted and to go through that discomfort I had to promise her the album she wanted. So of course I had to add a little something for myself, which was Vita Coco shampoo – that’s right, from the famous coconut water brand. I have been wanting to try this for ages. First impressions? Not amazing, my hair is voluminous but very matte. Plus this rates only 41/100 on Yuca. Probably not repurchasing, but I’ll keep using it. Hopefully this will grow on me.
25kg of epsom salts from Bomar
Yes You read that right. Epsom and magnesium salts baths are my go to for relaxation, muscle, mind and good night’s sleep. I use full bag at a time, so a bit fed up with the waste, I decided to go big or go home. Hopefully this will give me lots of month’s use.
