Welcome back! And welcome if you are new here xo
Time for reveal of my Love Lula picks for the month and the review of previous month’s picks 🙂 This month I allowed myself to splurge on two RMS Beauty lipsticks I’d wanted ever since they came out.
RMS Beauty is an iconic green beauty brand, everyone and their mother knows about it, so I feel I can skip the introduction to it?
For the long time all they had were their famous pots of concealer and some colour products, multiples and cream eye shadows, but in the last couple of years they came out with so many new products, palettes, lipsticks, mascara, probiotics, powder blushes – and I am yet to try any of it! Truth is, I am constantly in two minds whether should I have a small curated collection of favourite things or go for the newest and the trendiest products in green beauty. In result I have a mile long list of things I want but not allowing myself to go for them until I finished something I own in the same category. But when was the last time you finished a blush or a lipstick? Exactly! So I relaxed the rules a little bit and treated myself with Pretty Vacant and Vogue Rose lipsticks – I had my eye on them ever since they came out! I was also not too sure about marking this post as an AD, yes, I was a lucky duck to get to pick those from Love Lula, but I also paid a bit of my own money too, so is it an AD?
Let’s look at the ingredients, shall we?
INGREDIENTS: *Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Ethylhexyl Hydroxystearate, Cera Alba (Beeswax)(Cire d'abeille), Sucrose Acetate Isobutyrate, Kaolin, *Candelilla Cera (Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax) (Cire de candelilla), Hydrogenated Castor Oil, *Cera Carnauba (Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax) (Cire de carnauba), *Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Silica, Tocopherol, Isostearyl Palmitate, *Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Cetyl Alcohol, *Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, *Hypericum Perforatum Extract, *Equisetum Arvense Extract, *Calendula Officinalis Extract, *Hemidesmus Indicus Root Extract, *Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Leaf Extract, *Withania Somnifera Root Powder, *Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Leaf Extract, *Olea Europaea (Olive) Leaf Extract, Lecithin, Propanediol, Pentylene glycol, *Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Wax, Propylene Carbonate, Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, **Mauritia Flexuosa (Buriti) Fruit Oil. May Contain [-/+]: Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Red 28 (CI 45410), Mica, Blue 1 (CI 42090), Red 6 (CI 15850), Red 7 (CI 15850), Red 40 (CI 16035), Yellow 5 (CI 19140), Yellow 6 (CI 15985).
As you can see, they are not totally purist level natural, as they have dyes in them, I wanted to let you know that, so everyone is on the same page. Want to see swatches? I thought you will never ask 🙂
So how do I find them? Well, the formula is a bit drier than I expected it to be, I sort of thought they will be similar to their Lip2Cheek in a different format, but they are not. You need to have your lips exfoliated prior, because if you won’t, the lipsticks can go on a bit patchy upon first application – not a shortfall of the product, same is true for almost any other lipstick too. Don’t forget to use them as a blush too, they totally work that way too! I chose two shades that I know I will get loads of wear out of, and even though they came after I left for my vacay (post on what I took here), I am making the most of the last summer days by rotating and wearing them on a daily basis. As you can see, both of them are kind of similar shade, same same but different 🙂 Pretty Vacant is a softer tone pretty pastel shade, while Vogue Rose is more deep, but still rose toned coral. Like your lips, but better 🙂 Do I like them? Yes I do. Will I repurchase them? Too soon to say, but I will keep you posted.
